Furthurmore Friday Week 62
Q: On the Fall Tour of 1973 (October and November), the Grateful Dead travelled with a very special piece of equipment for one of the band members that was not a piece of music equipment, but which was set up every night just off stage. What was this item, and for whom, and why, was it brought on the road?
A: A rocking chair, for Donna Godchaux, who was pregnant during this tour. The chair was set up on the side of the stage, and during songs and jams that Donna did not sing on, she took a seat just off stage in this rocking chair.
